Message of Condolence to the Families of the Zanzibar Boat Accident

with 5 comments

Once again the people of Tanzania and Zanzibar in particular were woken up by shocking and devastating news of the sunk boat(MV Spice) in the Indian Ocean with heavy loss of life.

I was personally overwhelmed emotionally by the news and on behalf of my party,CHADEMA,my constituency Kigoma Kaskazini I join the people of Zanzibar and the nation at large at this tragic moment in our country, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and  survivors.

I call upon my fellow citizens, MPs ,companies, parastatal organisations, religious institutions to assist and offer humanitarian assistance and also aid in the rescue efforts that are underway and to bereaving famillies to bury their loved ones.

As we spare moments to reflect this tragic accident, it is high time both our governments acted tough on accident culprits and on the causes of  such oversight and irrespponsilibity and reveleant authorities need to be held accountable for such a great loss of life.

I urge fellow Tanzanians to pray that such a calamity never happens again, May God grant restraint and humility to the grieving families.

As for all those who will be held responsible, starting from boat owners, goverment officials and the minister responsible for marine transportation deserve no mercy, THEY SHOULD BE FIRED!
